I’m Khari Johnson—a software engineer in Atlanta building internal tools, web products, and the self-hosted systems that support my work.

What I do
I like work that turns a complicated system into something people can understand and depend on. That currently spans:
- Frontend development with TypeScript and React
- Backend services and automation with Node.js and Go
- Data systems built on SQLite and Postgres
- Reproducible infrastructure with Linux, NixOS, containers, and CI
How I got here
My fascination with technology started early. As a kid, I attempted to build a computer from spare parts in my mother’s tech graveyard. While that first build never powered on, it taught me that computers weren’t magical black boxes - they were systems that could be understood and mastered.
That curiosity became years of rooting phones, reinstalling operating systems, building utilities for family and friends, and eventually writing software professionally. Contract work taught me to own outcomes across design, development, deployment, and support; product and platform teams taught me how those decisions behave at a larger scale.
Away from code, I’m usually tinkering with hardware, playing games, following a new curiosity too far, or taking photos.
